All are welcome at any singing! Absolutely no experience required. All singings are from The Sacred Harp: 2025 Edition (Denson book) unless otherwise noted. Loaner books are almost always available, and we usually have books for sale as well.
In-person events may be moved or cancelled due to COVID. Contact the host to confirm details. Day-of rapid testing is required for all in-person events. Please do not attend an in-person event if you are feeling sick.

BERKELEY

Indoors. Wheelchair accessible. Plentiful street parking. 15 min flat walk from North Berkeley BART.
NOTE: On first Mondays, we’ll have “Learner’s Group”, a half-hour singing school presented by a local singer on various topics. The lesson is designed to interest new and veteran singers alike. On third and fifth Mondays, we’ll be singing from “other” books (i.e. not the 2025 Denson Sacred Harp). From January through June we’ll use the The Christian Harmony. Loaners available.
COVID Precautions: Day-of negative rapid test required; extra tests will be available. Vaccination required. There will be a sign-in sheet to vouch for the above and handle contact tracing. Please do not come if you are feeling sick.

PALO ALTO
Second and Fourth Sundays: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto

Indoors in room 4/5 (a double sized dividable room at the center of the campus). Room 4/5 is next to a large preschool play area and a foosball table. We will also use the Fireside Room (a larger room with excellent acoustics) when it is available. It’s just across the walkway from room 4/5. Kid friendly. Wheelchair accessible.
NOTE: The singing on Jan 11, 2025 will be from 3-5pm.
COVID Precautions: Masking optional outdoors, strongly encouraged indoors on campus. The church expects that an individual’s presence on campus attests to their status as vaccinated against COVID.

Singing from The Christian Harmony. Singing occurs in near realtime with other singers on Jamulus, a low-latency networked audio software. This system requires specific hardware and software configuration to work (check out this Getting Started guide for details).
